Painting Series Promotes Second Heart Homes, Scene Magazine

Second Heart Homes is having their first fundraising event on March 26th from 6-9 at Art Avenue located at 1440 Mainstreet, Sarasota. Second Heart Homes is a nonprofit providing housing with high-touch supportive services to homeless individuals coping with mental health. Local artist Vicki Chelf has painted founder, Megan Howell, as main auction piece and continuation of her series “Women of the resistance”. All proceeds benefit Second Heart Homes. Local artist Vicki Chelf has created a series of paintings titled “Women of the Resistance”. This piece is a continuation of her ongoing mission to present women who have contributed significantly in wartime via secret spies to help the Resistance in WWII.

This newest piece “Second Heart Angel” depicts Second Heart Homes founder, Megan Howell, as a local contemporary woman of resistance who is leading the charge to end homelessness.
