Second Heart Homes is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing permanent housing with wrap-around services to homeless adults with mental illnesses in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Our Vision
We specialize in helping some of the most chronically homeless individuals in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Many of our residents have historically fallen through the cracks. We look at them as people, analyze their specific circumstances, and apply a plan that is sensitive to their needs and ultimately gets them off the streets and into the lives they deserve.
What We Do
We put mental health and housing first. We meet people where they are at, love them for who they are, and find them the best quality of life given whatever circumstances are present. We provide affordable, supportive housing that combines accountability, social services, and a pathway back into the community.

Our services are robust, daily, individually driven, and are based upon conflict resolution, community engagement, and developing skill sets. We have workshops that identify problems and actively engage residents in developing and implementing their own solutions, guided by our efforts. Our residents become engaged in their own lives and often pass it on to help others.
